Philippines | The Travelling Feet

Philippines

I am from the Philippines, an archipelago in South East Asia which comprises 7,107 beautiful islands. The country is categorized into 3 main geographical divisions: Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Luzon, up north is where you will find the capital of the country, which is Manila. In the center is the Visayas Region where I live – in Cebu. Then to the south is Mindanao.

To those of you who doesn’t know, the Philippines’ second language is English so getting around this place wouldn’t be a problem. Majority of the people who live here are Catholics too, like me (although I’m not really that pious).

Being under the colony of Spain for 300 years, you will witness a semblance of language and architecture with that of Spain’s. However, you will also see the American and Japanese influence on our culture and way of life since we were also under the rule of both countries for quite some time too.

Our country is rich with abundant natural resources and I am truly thankful to be able to witness the beauty of our place.

Out of the 7,107 islands, I’ve only explored a few. Some of them I just passed by on my way to different towns. So my goal is to travel every town or city in my country for as long as I’m around.  I’m really not in a hurry but if given the finances, I’d surely hop on the next boat, bus or plane to explore the rest of the gems in the Philippines.

Here’s a guide to the places that I’ll be travelling in the near future. There’s still a lot of them that I haven’t gone to. I just hope there won’t be too many white spots left once I start my expedition :-)
